Gordon James "Pete" Brown, age 81, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 12, 2016. The son of Ceil & Hazel (Anderson) Brown, he was born on June 1, 1935 in Mancelona. Pete was a fun loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, woodworking and wintering in Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; two brothers; several nieces and nephews; and a grandson, Randy Pepper. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Margie Brown; their children, Connie & Ken Pepper, Bonnie Hayward, Jim & Dawn Brown, and Kenneth & Laureen Brown; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; a brother, Bill & Doris Brown; a sister, Sandy & Mike Flannigan; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family is from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Wesley Park United Methodist Church, 1150 32nd St. S.W. at Michael Ave. S.W., Wyoming, where memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Instead of flowers, contributions to the family to help with final expenses would be appreciated.
Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
