Golda Vivian Hodges, 68, of Stanton, Michigan, formerly of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, died Friday, February 17, 2006 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital - Livingston Campus, in Howell, Michigan of natural causes after battling a serious illness for several years.
The daughter of Dewey Frank Froedge and Ella Mae (Kerr) Froedge, she was born October 23, 1937 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. A native of Monroe County, she was a former seamstress at Key Manufacturing, a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Mitchel Dale Froedge; and a daughter, Vita Jane Hodges.
Survivors include her mother, Ella Mae Froedge of Hopkinsville; a daughter, Judy Melissa & Tom Melton of Michigan, a son, Kenneth Gregory Hodges of Kentucky; two sisters, Betty Sue & Isaac Butler of Glasgow, Ky. and Ella Freda & Jim Williams of Cynthiana, Ky.; two aunts, Delma Froedge Proffitt of Tompkinsville, Ky., and Christene Kerr Gary of Indianapolis, Ind.; two grandchildren Jason Lee Hodges of Noblesville, Ind., and Jamie Beth Hodges of Columbus, Ind.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2006 at the YokleyTrible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, Kentucky, with interment following at Mount Gilead Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday evening from 6-9 p.m. and all day Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions in Goldas name be made to the American Heart Association.
