We mourn the loss yet celebrate the life of Glenn O. DePue, a resilient man whose spirit, talent, and creativity touched many lives. Glenn was born on November 9, 1947, in St Johns, MI, USA, and spent most of his life in Carson City, Michigan. His journey through life was a testament to his smart and resourceful nature, his journey ended on April 1, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and accomplishment.
Glenn was an extraordinary individual, his intelligence and creativity shone through in his professional life as a Maintenance Foreman at Lobbdell-Emery. His talents extended beyond his occupation into his hobbies which ranged from hunting to wood working, and even small engine repair. He was a man of many interests, and his love for adventure often led him auction hunting, travelling, and occasionally enjoying what the casino had to offer. Glenn was a proud member of the American Legion Post Sheridan, and a Vietnam Veteran, a testament to his resilient spirit. An anonymous author once said, "A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others," and this quote perfectly captures Glenn's essence.
His most significant accomplishment, however, was the family he built and nurtured. He was a loving husband to his wife, Norma Rish-DePue, whom he married on June 25, 2005. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to his Amelia & Rob Mueller, Faye &John Cole, Glenn DePue, and step-daughter Robin Anderson; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Lucille DePue, and his step-daughter,s Denise Johnston-Evans and Keri Fulcher. He was a man who believed in family, and as Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Glenn's love for his family was a beautiful thing, indeed, felt by all who knew him.
We invite all who knew and loved Glenn to share their memories and upload photos to his memorial page. A celebration of Glenn's life is planned for Friday, May 17, 2024 at First Baptist Fellowship Hall, 10010 E. Carson City Road, Carson City, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Let us celebrate Glenn O. DePue, an extraordinary man whose life was a testament to resilience, intelligence, and talent. His light may have dimmed in this world, but his memory will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Christiansen’s Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Greenville, Michigan, 616-754-5638.
