Mrs. Glenadene J. Maynard, age 81, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 30, 2008 under the loving care of her family and Heartland Hospice at her nephew's home. The daughter of Irving & Leona (Coston) Stewart, she was born on Aug. 1, 1927 in Greenville.
For 26 years, Glennie made her home in California where she worked for many years for Memorex Electronics. In the late 1980s, she returned to the Ionia-Greenville area and for six years she worked as a Foster Grandparent delighting in the time she spent at the Seiter Educational Center in Greenville. A skilled seamstress, she also loved to fish.
In 2006 she was baptized at the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church in Ionia, and in Greenville she attended Faith Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by husband, Bud Maynard; her parents; her step-father, Lyle Clock; two brothers, Wayne Stewart and Blaine Stewart; and two sisters, Barb Woods and Charlene Jeffrey.
Surviving are a brother, Gary Stewart of Grand Rapids; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; her special dog and canine companion of the past 11 years, Tiki; and many dear friends.
