Gertrude Baird

Gertrude Baird, age 87, of Greenville, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Golden Life in Greenville. The daughter of Thomas Edward & Merle (Sabin) Gee, she was born on October 21, 1936 in Grand Rapids. A devoted homemaker, mother, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great grandma, Gertrude also enjoyed word searches. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl F. Baird, Sr.; a grandson, Jesse McGuire; a sister, Thelma; and six brothers, Ellsworth, Thomas Edward Jr., Ernest, William, John and Richard. Surviving are her children, Jack & Elaine Gee, Rick & Marie Drake, Dan Drake, Charles Drake, Helen & Brian Tolar, Dorothy Closz, Donna Reed & Charlie Hradsky, Carl F. Baird, Jr., and Viola Cooper; many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria Bartaway, Katie Lou & Tom Hole; two brothers, Everett Gee, and Don & Angel Gee; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Christiansen’s Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p..m. on Tuesday. The Rev. Stephen Bills, pastor of Greenville Bible Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will take place privately at East Montcalm Cemetery.
