Germaine Irene Buchholz, age 79, of Greenville went to live with her Lord on Thursday, January 31, 2013. The daughter of Gordon "Ossie" & Irene (Knopf) Nielsen, she was born on February 25, 1933 in Trufant and was a graduate of Lakeview High School and The American Institute of Banking at Grand Rapids Junior College. She had worked at the former First State Bank of Greenville. Germaine was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Greenville where she served on the church council, taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and served on many committees. She started the St. Paul Lutheran Church Food Mission and served for 13.5 years, in addition to volunteering at the Frederik Meijer Gardens and was a member of the Danish Sisterhood Society Lodge #65 in Greenville. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Robert M. Nielsen. Germaine is survived by her husband, Howard E. Buchholz whom she married May 18, 1957; one son, Howard E. & Susan Buchholz II of Frankfort, IL; three daughters, Sue Marie & Robert Shroyer of Fayetteville, TN, Virginia Kremsreiter of Ionia, and Julie & Matt Vaughn of Frankenmuth; two brothers, two brothers, Gordon Nielsen of Jenison, and Gary & Carolyn Nielsen of Hopkins; eleven grandchildren: Rebecca & Ashwin Kurup of Bayonne, NJ, Carissa & Shawn Hipsher of Riverdale Park, MD, Martina Buchholz of Chicago, IL, Mark Addis of Fayetteville, TN, Jeff Addis of Florida, Stephanie Sue Addis of Fayetteville, TN, Abigail and Grace Vaughn of Frankenmuth, and Rachel, Taylor Sue, and Ashley Kremsreiter of Ionia; and three great-grandchildren, Ashi and Anoushka Kurup of Bayonne, NJ, and Jewel Addis of Fayetteville. Visitation is Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Rev. Gary L.
