Gerard Straus

Gerard Roy "Jerry" Straus, age 64, of Wyoming, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016, under the care of Spectrum Health Hospice. Jerry was born on April 6, 1951 in Grand Rapids and graduated from Beal City High School. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Jerry served stateside during the Vietnam War and had worked in maintenance at a commercial bakery until becoming disabled. Jerry enjoyed the outdoors, especially taking nature walks and hikes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Dorthea (Beutler) Straus. Surviving are wife, Melinda L. "Mindy" Straus of Wyoming; her children, Rebecca & Bernardo Barrero of Wyoming, John & Stacy Klein of Jenison, and Rachel Klein & Josh Edwards of Wyoming; and four grandchildren.
