Gerald James Williams, age 76, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Lansing, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids. He was born February 13, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Clifford and Lauretta (Smith) Williams.
Gerald graduated from Western High School with the class of 1966. Shortly after graduation he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country for 4 years during the Vietnam War. He worked many years at the Waste Water Treatment Plant in Lansing Michigan. He married Constance Jean Dudley in 1973 and was a devoted husband till her death in 2015.
Survivors include his daughter, Dawnmarie Munoz-Garcia and son-in-law, Jonathan Garcia- Vicario; granddaughter, Christina; twin grand-daughter’s, Eliana and Tiffany; granddaughter, Rachel Diane; grandson, Logan Marshal; and cousins he loved very much, Chuck and Gail.
Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Constance; his parents, Cliff and Lauretta; and beloved brother, Ronnie.
Per Gerald’s wishes cremation has taken place and he will be buried with his wife, Constance at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to his daughter, Dawnmarie Munoz-Garcia.
