Gerald Edwin “Toby” Miller, age 83, of Gowen, passed away Monday morning, April 22, 2024 at his home following a brief illness. The son of Edwin & Erma (Griffith) Miller, he was born on June 16, 1940 in Greenville and had attended Greenville High School.
On April 9, 1960, in Stanton, he married Darlene Judy Taft and together they raised three children and enjoyed 64 years of marriage. Gerald retired from Federal-Mogul Corporation after 38 years of service and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a proud member of the National Rifle Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John Miller on April 11, 2021; two brothers, Eldon Miller and Duane Miller; and a sister, Sandra Schultz.
Surviving are his wife, Darlene Miller; a son, Jeff Miller of Gowen; a daughter and son-in-law, Jill & Raymond Decker of Stanton; three grandchildren, Caleb & Robin Decker, Cody & Kelsey Decker, and Catlynne Decker; seven great-grandchildren, GraceLynn Sutherland, Chloe Decker, Gunner Sutherland, Caylee Decker, Candice Decker, Creed Decker, and Fallon Decker; a brother-in-law, Darwin & Marcia Taft of Gowen; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at Christiansen’s Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where envelopes for memorial contributions will be available. Burial will take place privately at Little Denmark Cemetery in Gowen.
