Gerald Stewart McCulloch, lovingly known as "Gary," passed away on March 28, 2026, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, at the age of 74. Born on June 27, 1951, in Kalamazoo, Gary spent his entire life in the community he called home.
Gary proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. After completing his military service, he pursued a career that reflected his passion and skill for craftsmanship. A talented cabinet maker, Gary worked on numerous homes throughout his life, leaving behind a legacy of quality and care in every project he undertook. His love for working with wood extended beyond his profession; he often built items for his family with great dedication and little cost. Later in life, Gary found joy in creating birdhouses and feeders for the squirrels and birds he so enjoyed watching. He also crafted boxes from rough-cut wood, showcasing his enduring creativity and resourcefulness.
Gary was known for his willingness to lend a helping hand to family members with their projects. His generosity and friendship touched the lives of many who knew him. Whether through his work or personal connections, Gary left an indelible mark on those around him.
He is survived by his sister, Jill Bresson, and his brother, Robert McCulloch. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Pauline McCulloch, and his brother Rodney McCulloch.
Gary will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his loss and inspire gratitude for the time shared with him.
