Gerald Bird

Gerald G. Bird, age 89,of Marne, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. He was born on January 9, 1930. Jerry served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He attended Palmer Chiropractic School and worked as a chiropractor in both Chicago and South Dakota. He later worked as an engineer for the Lacks Corporation, retiring in 1995. He married his wife Patsy in 1983 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marne. Jerry loved to ride motorcycles. He and his wife, Pat, toured all over the United States. He loved going to auto shows, proudly showing his 1974 AMC Javelin. Survivors include his wife, Pat; children, Gerald (Jerri) Bird, Keith (Betty) Bird, Carol (Mike) Rasch and Teresa (Bob) Markwart; step-children, Tina (Rueben) Flores, Teresa (Randy) Weihl, Tara (John) Helms and Patty (Jon) Kohanski; 24 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Kathy Bird.
