George Giggey

George Arthur Giggey Jr., age 66, of Kentwood, Michigan, previously of Elyria, OH, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. He was born January 3, 1958, in Wayne, Michigan, to the late George and Patricia (Smith) Giggey Sr. During George's lifetime he enjoyed spending his time outdoors watching nature. He also enjoyed watching football (Lions and U of M) along with Nascar racing. He was a big fan of Tony Stewart. George liked spending time with his grandkids. He also liked collecting coins and watches. On October 25, 1993, George married Jeannie Collison in Lodi, MI. Together they shared 25 happy years of marriage before Jeannie passed away on March 4, 2019. George enjoyed wood working and could often be found out in the wood shop tinkering. Survivors include his two daughters, Margaret “Meg” (Jon) Ritzer and Jennifer (Ryan) Grams; two step-daughters, Brandi (Aaron) Brendtke and Kelli (Wayne) Baur; grandchildren, Zackary Payne, Alexander Giggey, Austin Brendtke, Jacob Grams, J.P. Ritzer, Meya Payne, Alivia Payne, Josh Brendtke, and Gavin Grams; twin-great-granddaughters; brother, Kenneth (Leeanne) Giggey; sister, Kathy (John) Jennings; and many other relatives and friends. George was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannie and his parents.
