Genevieve O. Zeigler, age 89, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday morning, Dec. 16, 2008 at Spectrum Health United Memorial-United Hospital, Greenville. The daughter of John & Hattie (Pickell) Miller, she was born on Sept. 21, 1919 near Entrican. In December of 1947 she married John E. Zeigler and they made their home in Greenville and raised three sons.
An avid musician, Genevieve enjoyed playing piano, guitar, and the drums and participated in music jamborees throughout the area. She also enjoyed sewing, dancing, camping, and spending time outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Zeigler on Sept. 28, 1987; by a son, Ronald Hyde; and six brothers and sisters. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny & Julie Hyde of Spencer Township, and Alan & Cathy Zeigler of Rockford; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Miller-White of Greenville; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-grandsons; four step-great grandchildren; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where the family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to services.
Burial will take place privately at East Montcalm Cemetery. Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions in memory of Mrs. Zeigler to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
