Gaylord Lee Patten, age 92, of Grand Rapids, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Veterens Affairs Medical Center in Battle Creek.
The son of Maurice & Lillian (Daily) Patten, he was born on August 2, 1919 in Grand Rapids. A decorated veteran of World War II, Gaylord served with the U.S. Army in the European-African Middle-Eastern theatres and was a receipient of the Purple Heart medal. Following the war, he joined the family business, Patten's Michigan Monument Company.
Survivors include his wife, Noreen Patten; and son, Dr. Neil A. Patten, both of Grand Rapids.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Michigan Cremation Company, honored provders of Vererans Funeral Care.
