Gary Starlin

Gary Phillip Starlin, age 73, of Vestaburg, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alma. The son of Elzy & Elizabeth Adelle (Fraser) Starlin, he was born on January 10, 1943 in Lake City. A proud Army veteran, he served his country during the Vietnam War. On June 30, 1968, in Fremont, he married Crystal Frances Hewitt and together they enjoyed nearly forty-seven years of marriage and had three daughters. Gary was a skilled carpenter and was a self-employed craftsman for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Crystal Starlin on April 23, 2015; a daughter, Camille Rae Starlin; three brothers; and two sisters. Surviving are two daughters, Niki & Wesley Barron of Columbus, North Carolina, and D.J. & Louis Pina of Vestaburg; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three brothers; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a Memorial Thanksgiving Potluck held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cedar Lake Elementary School Gym (7195 N. Academy Rd., Cedar Lake, MI).
