It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Ronald Hodgins, age 74, of Greenville, Michigan, who passed away on April 5, 2026.
Gary was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to Grant and Cleo Hodgins. He built a life rooted in hard work and dedication, spending many years as a truck driver and diesel mechanic. Gary took great pride in everything he did, whether it was his work, his home, or caring for those around him.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Gary loved fishing, tending to his flower and vegetable gardens, and keeping a beautiful yard he was proud of. One of his favorite pastimes was sitting on his deck, watching the wildlife and enjoying the peace of the outdoors. He was also a familiar face at his favorite local diner, Margo’s, where he enjoyed breakfast and the company of good friends.
Above all, Gary was a devoted father and grandfather. He was known for always being there for his children, supporting them in every way possible without ever asking for anything in return. His kindness extended beyond his family—he was the kind of man who would help anyone in need, no questions asked.
Gary is survived by his son, Frank Hodgins; his daughter, Stacy Tomlin (Marvin Rex); his grandchildren, Raven Conrad (Shawn), Michael Hodgins (Ashley), and Sharmaine Hodgins; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Cleo Hodgins, and his beloved wife, Dawn Hodgins.
A memorial service will be held at the home of his daughter, Stacy Tomlin, on Saturday, July 11, 2026 in Fowlerville, MI.
Gary will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his generosity, quiet strength, and the love he gave so freely to his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to be used towards the Services.
