Gary William Dorland, age 34, of Belding, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. The son of Gary Lee & Phyllis Marie (Burns) Dorland, he was born on February 1, 1982 in Belding and was a 2001 graduate of Greenville High School.
Gary had worked at the former Electrolux Home Products and enjoyed stock car and motorcross racing. He delighted in time spent with family, especially working on cars together with his late father. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary L. Dorland, on December 30, 2013.
Surviving are his mother, Phyllis Dorland of Belding; two sons, Kyle Dorland of Stanton, and Zack Dorland of Grand Rapids; a sister, Bonnie Dorland of Belding; two nieces and a nephew, Kandis Keene, Adam Keene, and Katelyn Kenne, all of Belding; aunts and uncles, Louise & John Lyons of Belding, Larry & Jackie Burns of Stanton, Danny & Brenda Burns of Gowen, Clayton Burns of Grand Rapids, Dennis & JoAnne Burns of Vestaburg, Chester & Wendy Burns of Saranac, Terry Burns of Greenville, David Rice of Belding, Steve Dorland of Tennessee, Vicki Dorland of Cadillac, and Larry & Connie Ehling of McBain; and many, many cousins and friends.
Visitation with the family is from 3-4 p.m. on Saturday at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rev. Ken Harger, retired pastor of Shiloh Community Church, will officiate and burial will take place privately at Eureka Township Cemetery at a later date.
