Gary Lee Bush, age 80 of Wayland, Michigan. Went to be with the Lord on Tuesday evening, May 12th, 2026, after losing his battle with PSP and COPD. Gary was born on November 25th, 1945, in Bay City, MI. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Leroy and Alice (Gracey) Bush, twin brother Terry, and brother Robert. Brother-in-law David C. Holmberg and Jerry H. Thompson.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Susan Wisniewski-Bush, stepson Jason Wilkins, daughters Robin (Mike) Wilson, Lisa (Starling) Ervin, son Robert Bush and stepsons from a previous marriage Ted and Aaron Pfeifer. Also, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gary is also survived by sisters-in-law, Yvonne Holberg, Christine (Darryl) Carlson, Stephanie Thompson, Linda (Jim) Kumler, Lisa (Gary) Bigelow, Kim (Pat) Gill, and Georgene Jackson, special niece Tracy Bivins, and several nieces and nephews. Special friends Nancy Carpenter, Godmother Bonnie (Ed) Hillary, Carol and Phil Kopulos and neighbor Gene Garceau.
Gary worked as a tool & die machinist until he retired at 75 1/2 years old.
One of Gary’s greatest passions was riding his Harley Davidson which he was lucky enough to enjoy for 54 years.
Gary enjoyed many things with his wife, which includes camping, fishing, and walking. He enjoyed things including a boat. An event that he looked forward to every year with Susan and his stepson Jason was picking out the perfect tree and having lunch afterwards. Gary also had a love of putting together puzzles.
With the help of Deacon Jeff Ryan, Gary took religious counsel, was baptized, confirmed and joined St. Therese Church, where he established a deep relationship with God. Father Evelio Ramirez had a special place in his heart.
The Family thanks Faith Hospice nurse April, Kim and all the others for their excellent care and compassion during this time.
Services will be held at St. Therese Church, 128 Cedar St., Wayland, MI 49348 on Saturday, May 30th, 2026 at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. Cremation has taken place. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, with luncheon following at the St. Therese gym.
In honor of Gary and weather permitting, please ride your motorcycle to the service.
