Garry Blum

Garry Lee Blum, age 61, of Sand Lake, passed away at his home after a brief illness. The son of Wesley Fredrick & Gladys Charlene (Stanton) Blum, he was born on Aug. 7, 1950 in Stanton. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Garry served during the Vietnam era and had worked at Benteler Automotive in Grand Rapids. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tractor pulls and car shows. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jacob Blum; a sister, Beverly Palmer; and a brother, Butch Blum. Surviving are his three daughters, Kimberly Dale & Earl Whiting of Newaygo, Tina Wozniak & Mike Kidd of Grant, and Sue Burrows of Howard City; his grandchildren, William, Nathan, & Larry Dorrance, Jason, Erica, & ChAce Wozniak, and Rachel Burrows; a great grandson, Benjamin Dorrance; a sister, Diana & George Mason of Greenville; a step-sister, Sherry Devlin of Claremont, Florida; a step-brother, Randy Williams of Detroit; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services are at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 6-7 p.m. The Rev. Joel Heron, pastor of Greenville Community Church, will officiate and military honors, rendered by the U.S. Army, will conclude the ceremonies.
