Frederick Smith

Frederick D. Smith age 67, of Nashville, MI, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021. He was born on September 25, 1953, in Gaylord. Fred enjoyed sports, fishing, collecting coins, the outdoors and his cat, diesel. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Survivors include his children, April (Joseph) Hufford, Patti Cross, Jay Cramer, Timothy (Ashlie) Cross, Crystal (JP) Deason Johnson, Donald (Aimee) Smith and bonus daughter, Linda Gritzmaker; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his mother, Phyllis Detmer; siblings, Ernie (Sheryl) Smith, Pam (James) Detmer, Debra (Morris) Venneman, Rod (Shirley) Detmer and Cynthia Detmer; and lifelong friend, Sherri Sias. He is preceded in death by his father, James Detmer; brother, Robert Smith; and granddaughter, Shyanna Bowlin.
