Francis Straub

Francis (Frank) Straub Sr, aged 94, from Kelloggsville, Michigan, passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 10, 2026. Born the youngest of his five siblings, Frank was blessed with a large and loving family that he treasured throughout his life. He shared a special bond with his many nieces and nephews who were more like brothers, sisters and close friends to him.

Much of Frank’s life was spent in Shelbyville, Michigan, where he enjoyed a small organic farm with his wife, Marcia and children, Frank Jr, and Emma.

Before settling down, Frank proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, he attended UCLA, furthering his education and pursuing new opportunities.

Throughout his life, Frank embraced competition and adventure. He enjoyed senior softball and participated in the Senior Olympics He had a lifelong love of animals, the outdoors and music of every genre. Frank was a regular at most area karaokes well into his late eighties.

Above all, Frank’s Greatest joy was his family. He was especially devoted to his grandchildren, Terra, Jacob, Angel, Hamia and Mayla. Supporting them at sporting events, celebrating milestones, or simply spending time together during visits.

Frank will be remembered for his warm heart, strong spirit, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family.

A casual open house style memorial will be held in Frank’s honor on Sunday, July 19, 2026 from 2 to 5 PM at the Lumberyard Event Center at 710 W. Maple St., Wayland, MI 49348.
