Francis Hoag

Francis "Frank" A. Hoag, age 79, of Cutlerville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2023. He was born on April 30, 1944, in Flint, MI to the late Robert & Mary (Suggitt) Hoag. Francis married the love of his life, Roseline, "Rose", on December 18, 1982, and shared 40 years of marriage together. They were inseparable, and truly completed one another. Rose preceded Frank in death by just seven weeks on March 26, 2023. A committed husband, Frank would go out of his way to ensure Rose was well cared for. He was always more concerned about others than himself. Frank found pleasure in taking a solitary walk to Russ', where he would enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee with cream and sugar. Coffee at Russ' was a routine for decades. He enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, playing board games and completing word searches. Frank and Rose moved to Valley View Care Center earlier this year. After Rose's passing, Frank spent his days engaging in a variety of social activities. He enjoyed playing BINGO, Noodle Ball and board games. He religiously attended every event that served coffee or treats, and participated in church services multiple times per week. Survivors include his sister Carol (Russ) Robinson; son, Francis (Crystal) Hoag II, step-daughter Chatelle Osterbaan; grandchildren London Hoag, Dallas Hoag, and Brooklyn Hoag; and step grandchildren Edwin (Tiffany) Osterbaan II, Joshua Osterbaan, Matthew Osterbaan, William (Grace) Brandt, Victoria Brandt, Elizabeth (Zach) Beckley, Antionette Brandt, Gabrielle (Mike) Gardner, Olivia Averill, Virginia Averill, and Amanda (Darick) Sevenski. Frank is preceded in death by his wife Rosaline; twin brother Robert, brother William "Bill" Hoag, sister Peggy Aboosamra, and step-son Fredrick Averill.
