Ferris Hocum

Ferris James Hocum, age 61, of Rockford, passed away Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 unexpectedly from vascular disease. The son of Ferris & Esther (Foster) Hocum, he was born on September 13, 1956 in Grand Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mable, Melba, Doris, and Carol; father-in-law, Gene Snyder and nephew, Zachary Snyder. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Marie Hocum (Snyder); his children Steven Hocum, Heather & John Green, Brian Umstead, Miranda & Jason Emanouil; as well as 13 grandchildren and his mother-in-law Darlene Snyder. Jim graduated from Northview High School, going on to attend Baker College, and graduated from Ferris State University with a degree in Nuclear Medicine. The family will be receive friends from 5pm -8pm on Friday, Dec. 1st at Solon Township Hall, 15185 Algoma Ave NE, Cedar Springs, MI, with a memorial service beginning at 6pm.
