Faye Burhance

Faye C. Burhance, age 77, of Greenville, passed away late Friday evening, May 25, 2012 at Spectrum Health - United Hospital in Greenville. The daughter of Herman H. and Hattie (O'Shields) Greenhill, Faye was born on August 7, 1934 in Atlanta, Georgia. Faye worked for many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the offices of Dr. Bird, Dr. Ruiz and Dr. Ruiz, and Dr. Caudill as well as working as an industrial nurse at the former Gibson Refrigerator Company. For many years she also ran the blood pressure clinics at Jorgensen's/First Choice Pharmacy. Faye attended Greenville Community Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Charity Joy Burhance on October 27, 1977; and a grandson, Dannie Phillips on September 30, 1996. Surviving are her children, Jean Marie (Don) Butler of Cedar Springs, Lori Peck of Greenville, Tim Ruthruff of Turk Lake, and Dr. Chris (Teri) Ruthruff of Ionia; a brother, the Rev. Roy (Darlene) Greenhill of Atlanta, Georgia; a son-in-law, Frank Phillips of Greenville; ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Visitation is Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where envleopes for memorial contributions are available. Funeral services are on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Greenville Community Church, 6596 S. Vining Road, Greenville, with the Rev. Joel Heron officiating. Burial will take place privately at East Montcalm Cemetery. Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Greenville Community Church Food Bank or to the Best Years Fellowship.
