Evelyne Buffum

Evelyne Mae Buffum, age 81, of Belding, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. The daughter of Floyd & Edna (Crankshaw) Orvis, she was born on June 19, 1934 at the family farm on Fish Road in Belding. A graduate of Belding High School, Evelyne retired from the former Electrolox Home Products. Together with her husband, Dave, they enjoyed collecting, restoring, and selling antiques, were members of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, wintered in Florida, and enjoyed painting saw blades and folk art. Evelyne loved her dogs and bird watching... especially orioles. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Brian Keech and Jack Keech; an infant brother, Eugene Orvis; and a sister, Laura Jewell. Surviving are her husband of 41 years, David J, Buffum; their children, Sherry & Robert Rachal of Louisiana, Terri & Joseph Ondo of Florida, and Bruce & Becky Buffum of Gowen; ten grandchildren, Nikki Keech, Katrina Furlow, Felicia Ruiz, Casie Kelley, Dalton Keech, Blair Boyes, Brad Buffum, Joshua Ondo, Jon Ondo, and Tiffany Duncan; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeanette & Jim Hulliberger of Belding; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is from 12-1 p.m. on Wednesday at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Elder William "Bill" Bauman of the Greenville Community of Christ will officiate and burial will take place privately at Otisco Township Cemetery.
