Mrs. Evelyn M. Phenix, age 80, of Lake Stanton, passed away Friday evening, Dec. 14, 2007 at her home under the loving care of her family and Carson Home Hospice. The daughter of Robert & Mildred (Koop) Guldner, she was born on Aug. 2, 1927 in Milford. On July 15, 1955, in Greenville, she married Charles G. Phenix.
She retired from General Motors and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially their camping trips together.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Hodge on Dec. 10, 2005; and a grandson, Andrew James Tice, on Feb. 14, 2006.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Phenix; their two daughters, Denise & James Rowland, and Michelle & Jason Dick, all of Greenville; a daughter-in-law, Janette Hodge of Stanton; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild, with the second on the way; two sisters, Wilma Guldner of Greenville, and Leona Evans of Stanton; a brother-in-law, Leo & Ruth Phenix of Sheridan; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007 at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger, pastor of Shiloh Community Church, officiating. Burial will take place privately at River Ridge Cemetery, Belding.
