Evelyn Hollinger

Evelyn Esther Epler Hollinger, of Wayland Michigan, died Monday, February 18th, 2013, at age 91. Evelyn Hollinger was born on May 20th, 1921 in Reading Pennsylvania to Mary Haan Epler and George B. Epler. She was the youngest of eight children;Wayne,Russel,Ruth,Verna,Luther(Jim),Elsie and Helen, all of whom predeceased her. Evelyn graduated form High School in 1939 and married Roy Franklin Hollinger, also of Reading Pennsylvania, in 1942. They had three children, Roy Jr.,Sandra, and John. Roy predeceased Evelyn in 1981 and their son John A. Hollinger In 2000. Evelyn took great joy in her grandchildren and will be recalled for the variety and quality of the handcrafted items she produced. Evelyn's family remembers her for her quiet kindliness, her cheerful nature, and her tireless industry. Evelyn is survived by her son, Roy "Skip" Franklin Hollinger Jr., his wife Gail Phillips Hollinger, daughter Sandra "Sandy" Jo Hollinger Burky, her grandchildren Robin Jo Burky Acton, Michele Lynn Burky, Kristy May Hollinger, and Michach William Hollinger and her great grandchildren Chae Paul Acton, and Ashley Brianna Acton. "We will smile because she has lived; we will cherish her memory and let it live on," A memorial service will be held at United Church of Wayland (114 E. Superior, Wayland MI) on Sunday, February 24th at 2:00pm with Pastor RJ Hronek officiating. There will be a reception at the church following the service.
