Eva Mae Cowles, age 91, of Edmore passed away Friday evening July 20, 2012 at her sons home in Greenville. The daughter of George and Clara (Odeain) McCall, Eva was born on May 19, 1921 in Kalkaska, Michigan and worked for many years as a clerk for the Kalkaska Chamber of Commerce.
Eva was a lover of all animals, especially cats. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune. Everyone who knew her loved her.
Eva is survived by her children; Leroy (Nancy) Prentice of West Branch, Robert (Debbie) Prentice of Greenville, and Tom Prentice of Rossville, Georgia, six grand children, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three husbands; Sherman Prentice, married 25 years; Harry Bruff, married 12 years; and Ed Cowles, married 10 years.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Home Township Community Hall, 125 S. Third Street, Edmore, from 12pm - 3pm.
