Eugene Smallegan

Eugene Charles Smallegan (Geno), aged 66, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, October 8th, 2021. Eugene was born on July 30th, 1955 in Fruitport, MI to Trudy and Willard Smallegan. He proudly devoted 22 years to the United States Navy. Following his service, he went on to retire from Grand Valley State University. Eugene was a devoted and loving family man who enjoyed hunting and watching sports, especially football and NASCAR racing. Eugene was preceded in death by his father, Willard Smallegan. He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife of 41 years, Kathy Smallegan; children, Travis (Jamie), Charles (Carlynn) and Marci (Rob); brothers, Dave, Dennis (Tina), Tim; sisters, Donna (Joe), Diane (Randy), Carol (Dennis) as well as his mother, Trudy Smallegan. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service to celebrate Eugene's life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice at Spectrum Health Foundation. Visitation will be held from 1:30 pm until 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Together Church, 2950 Clyde Park Avenue SW, Wyoming. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm at the church.
