Erika Sue Bekins, age 55, of Sand Lake, Michigan, passed away Monday, October 19, 2026, at home surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

The daughter of Reginald and Dawn (Thurston) Klooster, she was born on April 28, 1971, in Greenville, Michigan. On July 13, 1991, she married Todd William Bekins, and together they shared over 35 devoted years of marriage and raised five children.

Erika dedicated her life to her home and family. As a devoted stay-at-home mother, she was the steady heart of the household, pouring her energy and care into supporting her children through every stage of life. She cherished simply being together—whether sharing everyday moments at home, celebrating milestones, or spoiling her grandson, Brayden. When taking time for herself, Erika loved thrifting, always having an eye for a good deal and delighting in the thrill of discovering unique treasures. Her warmth, selflessness, and quiet devotion to the people she loved will forever be remembered.

Erika is survived by her parents, Reginald & Dawn Klooster; her loving husband, Todd; their five children, Dakota Bekins, Dalton (Kelsy) Bekins, McCoy Bekins, Miley Bekins, and McClain Bekins; her grandson, Brayden Bekins; two sisters, Amber (Aric) Petersen and Mandy (Kevin) Swanson; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Erika’s life on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at The Gathering Place in downtown Sand Lake (18 W. Lake St., Sand Lake).
