Emery Russell Keene, Jr., age 78, of Greenville, Michigan, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026 at Corewell Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The son of Wanda (Goose) & Emery Russell Keene, Sr., he was born on January 22, 1948 in Traverse City, Michigan, was raised in the Stanton area, and was a 1966 graduate of Central Montcalm High School.

For 42 years, Emery worked at the former Electrolux Home Products in Greenville, where he was a member of UAW Local No. 137, and retired as a welder.

An accomplished musician, he enjoyed playing guitar and listening to music, as well as golfing, bowling, and playing euchre… especially with his grandchildren. In his later years, he enjoyed playing games of chance and delighted in trips to the casino with his grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Barbara. Surviving are his son, Jeff Keene of Ionia; three grandchildren, Katelyn Keene, Adam Keene, and Kandis Keene; two great-grandchildren, Camden Visser and Grayson Garrett; a sister, Delores McMullen; and his former daughter-in-law, Bonnie.

A celebration of Emery’s life is being planned for later this summer and will be announced later.
