Mrs. Eloyce Emily Brown, 77, of Greenville, passed away early Saturday morning, Dec. 8, 2007 at Spectrum Health United Memorial-United Hospital, Greenville. The daughter of Walter & Harriet (Richardson) Rambo, she was born on April 3, 1930 in Cadillac. After graduating from Greenville High School in 1950, she worked as a telephone operator for Michigan Bell. On Dec. 15, 1951, in Greenville, she married Richard I. Brown. She continued her career as a telephone operator with the U.S. Army while Richard was stationed in Georgia.
After Richards discharge from the service, they returned to Greenville where they made their home and raised two children. For 32 years Eloyce was a carrier for The Daily News, in addition to volunteering with the American Cancer Society and the Greenville Area Senior Center. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she enjoyed cooking and delighted in spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband of almost 56 years, Richard Brown of Greenville; their two children, Jeffrey & Julie Brown, and Julie & Scott Blundy, all of Greenville; three grandchildren, Malorie Brown, Anthony Blundy, and Alicia Blundy, all of Greenville; a sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte L. & Bob Harvey of Portage; siblings-in-law, Joyce Ritter of Greenville, Les & Linda Brown of Belding, Darlene Loughlin, and Sandy Bell, all of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.
Honoring her wishes, private family services will be held on Monday at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Greenville, with the Rev. Dr. Joy Moore, pastor of the Greenville First United Methodist Church, officiating.
