Eloy Cayo Perez-Diaz, age 67, of Wyoming, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, April 18, 2025. He was born January 6, 1958, in Santa Clara, Cuba, to Edy Rosa Perez-Diaz. Eloy married the love of his life, Nilda Maria Sordo-Diaz on July 6, 1981, in Santa Clara. The couple welcomed their first child in November of 1983 and their son in 1987. In 2000, Eloy and his family moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Eloy enjoyed fishing, driving RC boats, going to the casino, and anything on the water, but above all else he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and family. He absolutely loved being able to take the grandkids fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Nilda; daughter, Yaimet Perez; son, Yainier Perez; son-in-law, Ulises Viveros; 5 grandchildren, Allison, Blanca, Camila, Ethan, and Roman; 1 great-grandson, Zender; and many other relatives and friends.
Per Eloy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their care and compassion throughout this difficult time, which helped fulfill Eloy’s request to remain at home for his final days.
