Mrs. Eloise J. Jones, age 74, of Wyoming, formerly of Greenville, passed away Tuesday evening, Oct. 31, 2006 at Luther Home, Grand Rapids. The daughter of Arthur & Helga V. (Jensen) Scofield, she was born on Aug. 9, 1932 in Greenville. After graduating from Greenville High School, Eloise attended the Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary (now Cornerstone University) and had worked as a secretary at the former Gibson Refrigerator Company. She was a member of Maplelawn Baptist Church, loved her cocker spaniels, and enjoyed gardening, reading, and crocheting.
On April 7, 1967, in Greenville, she married Don Michael Mike Jones, who preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 2002 after 35 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her father, Art Scofield in 1983; her mother, Helga Scofield in 1997; an infant sister, Virginia; an infant brother, Arthur; and a brother, Erling Scofield in 1986.
Surviving are her two children, Karen & Larry Westmaas of McBain, and James & Marsha Jones of Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren, Danielle, Katlyn, Brandon, and Jessica Westmaas, and Ian Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, 2006 at Maplelawn Baptist Church, 124 Maplelawn S.W., Wyoming, with visitation one hour prior to services.
