Elizabeth Lauretta

Elizabeth Lauretta, age 83, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2021. She was born on May 3, 1937, in Grand Rapids, to Judd & Gertrude (Allen) Tanis. She graduated high school in 1955 from Maywood Academy in Grand Rapids. She went into nursing school and began her career at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital as an LPN. She married Paul J. Lauretta in 1958 and moved to St. Cloud, MN, to raise her family. She moved backed to Grand Rapids in 1967 with her family and continued nursing training which opened up the opportunity for her to work as a surgical nurse until her retirement in 1992. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Raymond J. Tanis; brother-in-law, Robert (Mary Kay) Adloff. She is survived by her children, Kathleen Lauretta, Mark Lauretta, Michael Lauretta and Daniel (Mary) Lauretta; sister, Mary Kay (Tanis) Adloff; brother, Richard J. (Sharon) Tanis; as well as five nieces. A Celebration of Life by the family will be held later in the spring.
