Elizabeth Hammond

In the afternoon of December 7th, 2024, God called Elizabeth “Zid” Barbara Yeboaa Hammond (née Adu) into His welcoming arms. She was 63 years old. He set her free from the snare, relieving her of all pain, discomfort and sickness. She ferociously fought her battle and sang His praises through the end of her time with us. We are therefore encouraged that though she is absent from her body, she is present with the Lord. Her courage was inspirational to all who knew and loved her. She was a catalyst in the lives of all she came in contact with, often able to clearly see and create possibilities in others where they struggled to do so by themselves. As such, her family extends well beyond biological relations. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Adu and mother, Esther Aduamah. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Arnold Ekow Hammond Sr.; her children, Arnold (Nanakow) Hammond Jr., Leslie (Amonoo) Hammond, and Mrs. Anna-Lisa (Ewuresi) Shaibu (née Hammond); her six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Olivia, Phoenix, Ava, Jude and Anaya; her siblings, Samuel E. Adu, Felicia Adu, Mrs. Agnes Adu Yeboah, Mrs. Doris Asante Adane and Mrs. Angela Tay. Arrangements are as follows: A Celebration of Life will be held at the Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Ave SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 49548, USA, on Saturday the 11th of January 2025. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00 PM Noon. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM. Attire: Black and/or White. A Memorial Service on Saturday the 22nd of February, 2025 at the Calvary Baptist Church, Shiashie Campus in Ghana from 9am to 11.30am GMT. Attire: All Black. A Thanksgiving Service on Sunday the 23rd of February, 2025 at the Calvary Baptist Church, Adabraka Campus in Ghana from 9am to 11.30am GMT. Attire: Black and White.
