Elizabeth Ruamy Beach, age 92, formerly of Six Lakes, Michigan, passed away Sunday evening, July 13, 2025 at her daughter’s home under the loving care of her family and Corewell Health Hospice.
The daughter of George Allen & Daisy (Kilts) Huey, she was born on June 13, 1933 in North Plains Township, Ionia County, Michigan. On March 2, 1951, in Ionia, she married the sweetheart of her life, Mark Edwin Beach. Together, they raised seven children and enjoyed 72 years of marriage until Mark passed away on August 5, 2023.
She also worked outside the home at the Indian Summer plant in Belding making apple cider and vinegar. Her children remember how lucky they were to be able to take the drink for school parties -- fresh Apple Cider! Elizabeth loved to cook, did her owning canning and sewing (making Easter dresses for her daughters), and delighted in baking pies and cookies. She would make special cookies for her brother, Lorenzo Huey, to go with his “half a cup of coffee”!
Skilled at sewing and needlework, she taught her children to sew, knit and crochet and recently crocheted baby blankets for each of her three new great-great grandbabies born in 2024. Elizabeth loved spending time with her “baby” brother, Randy Huey, even though he was bigger than she was. She also loved sharing stories with her brother, David Irwin, and she looks forward to dancing with him in Heaven.
Elizabeth was a lifelong member of the Moose lodges in Greenville and Helena, Montana, serving in the offices of guide and senior regent, and was also a member of the ladies’ auxiliaries of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars posts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mark Beach; three grandsons, Paul Jones, Steven Lisser, and Rickie Haverstick; two sons-in-law, Richard Barr and Doug Jones; a sister-in-law, Nancy Huey; a nephew, Joseph Huey; and many special aunts and uncles that were like siblings.
Surviving are her children, Sandra Barr & Steve Robinson, Karen Jones, Edwin & Cathy Beach, Dale Beach, Nancy & Gregory Edwards, Susan Beach, and Daisy Wiseman; twelve grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great grandchildren with the nineteenth on the way; and many other dearly loved siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
