Elda Dickinson

Elda Virginia Dickinson, age 92, of Greenville, went to be with Jesus, her Savior, on Thursday evening, December 29, 2022 from her daughter's home in Stanton and under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Lansing. The daughter of Henry & Fern Isabelle (Foster) Esch, she was born on February 21, 1930 in Blanchard, Michigan. After graduating from high school, she married Wayne H. Dickinson and together they raised two children and enjoyed 53 years of marriage until Wayne passed away on January 12, 2002. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Elda was a long-time, active member of the Holiness Gospel Mission in Greenville, and volunteered in a number of roles at the church including secretary, treasurer, Sunday school teacher, and organist. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting, baking and decorating celebratory cakes for family birthdays and weddings, and family genealogy - even authoring a book about the Dickinson family history. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne Dickinson; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Dickinson; a grandson, Anthony Dickinson; and six brothers and sisters. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Susan & James West of Stanton; a son, James Dickinson of Fenwick; four grandchildren, Lisa & Shawn McMaster, Lori & Louis Leano, Teddy & Maddison West, and Linda & Frank Hevel; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert & Nancy Esch, and Mahlon Esch; a brother-in-law, Lyle & Berniece Dickinson; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the Holiness Gospel Mission, 4030 Fitzner Road at W. Holland Lake Road, Greenville, and burial will take place privately at East Montcalm Cemetery.
