Eileen Rose Fopma, 69, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018 after a two year battle with cancer.
The daughter of Louis & Eileen (Horgen) Ziomkowski, she was born January 27, 1949 in Grand Rapids.
Eileen has gone by many names - Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, Mrs. Claus, friend, volunteer, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, RCIA teacher, sister, daughter, Grandma of 100 kisses, wife, mom - and now angel and saint. The only thing Eileen valued more than her family was her faith. She preached the gospel daily through her compassion and acts of kindness toward others. She never forgot a birthday. She never ceased to inspire.
Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, Louis & Eileen (Horgen) Ziomkowski, her in-laws, Chad & Doris (Withers) Fopma, and her brother Louis Ziomkowski. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert Fopma, her children, Jennifer Fopma, Chad (Kim) Fopma, Kerry (Brent) Boznanski, and grandchildren, Andrew and Lidia McEldowney, Brady and Bryn Boznanski, Spencer, Alexa and Mackenzie Hewett. She is also survived by her siblings, Margaret Ziomkowski, Anne Ziomkowski, John (Christine) Ziomkowski, Lawrence (Diana) Ziomkowski, Ed (Jamie) Ziomkowski, Nancy Fopma, Dave Fopma, Jeff (Mary) Fopma, and Doug Fopma, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial mass for Eileen will take place on Friday, December 28 at 11:00 am at Holy Name of Jesus Parish, 1630 Godfrey Ave SW, Wyoming, MI 49509 with Fr. Stephen Dudek officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday December 27, from 6:30-9 pm for visitation, rosary and vigil service at the parish as well.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to assist with the medical and funeral expenses. Envelopes will be available at the visitation.
