Edwin Charles Beck, age 64, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday morning, April 10, 2007, at home under the loving care of his family following a 15 year battle with ALS (Lou Gerhigs Disease). The son of Elmer & Elma (Copeland) Beck, he was born on Jan. 12, 1943 in Greenville. After graduating from Greeenville High School, Ed attended Grand Rapids Community College and spent all of his career in the tool and die trade. On Halloween, Oct. 31, 1969, in Ionia, he married Donna Strouse-Poisal. Over the years he had worked at Clark, General Motors, and retired from Jordan Manufacturing. Blessed with a natural mechanical ability, he could design, build, and fix just about anything. He enjoyed traveling, sightseeing, hunting, and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer & Elma Beck; his parents-in-law, Ernest & Mary Strouse; a son, Terry Lee Poisal; and a daughter, Ginger Sue Poisal. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Donna Beck of Greenville; his children, Lynn Walker of Greenville, Karen & Ryan Bannen of Belding, Kathy & Chris Christensen of Gowen, Cheryl & Charles Korson of Canton, Scott & Nancy Beck of Bailey, Klint & Amy Beck of Cedar Springs, and Rhonda & Barry Sellers of Remus; his grandchildren, Amanda Dennis of Lakeview, Kit, Aleigha, and Justin Dennis, all of Florida, Rebecca Bannen, and Matthew Bannen, both of Belding, Ben Christensen and Bryce Christensen, both of Gowen, Taylor Beck, John Korson, and Adam Korson, all of Canton, Trent Beck and Kara Beck, both of Bailey, Aleisha Beck and Brandon Beck, both of Cedar Springs, and Derrick Sellers and Darren Sellers, both of Remus; five great grandchildren; a brother, Bruce Beck of Gowen; a sister, Sandra & Richard Cairns of Trufant; several siblings-in-law; a special cousin, Gloria Copeland of Milan; and several nieces and nephews.
