Edward Purcell

Edward George Purcell, age 83, of Wyoming, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming. The son of Joseph Donald & Louise (Knapp) Purcell, he was born on September 22, 1933 in Newaygo. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Army, and then worked in maintenance at Godwin Heights High School, retiring after 25 years of service. An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed hunting. Surviving are his children, Donald & Reeta Purcell of Manton, Sheryl Bergstrom of Cedar Springs, Rich Purcell of Wyoming, Robert & Norma Purcell of Cutlterville, and Lid Osterhoudt of Nashville, Tennessee; a sister, Ardith Purcell of Wyoming; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
