Edward Nozal

Edward "Ed" Nozal, age 74, of Grand Rapids, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017 surrounded by family. The son of John II & Genevieve (Zyskowski) Nozal, he was born on March 25, 1943 in Grand Rapids. Ed was a proud U.S. Coast Guard Veteran. He went on to be a painter for Steelcase and retired after 27 years. Ed had a love for music, playing guitar and fishing. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed sharing his knowledge of sports with his grandchildren. Ed was also a devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Parish. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, John Nozal III and Larry Nozal. He will be deeply missed by his children, Christine (Mark) Muilenburg, Thomas (Ruth) Nozal and Brandy (Dominic) Reister; nine grandchildren; and best friend of 48 years, Lou Schaub. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 26th, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 628 Diamond Ave. NE, Grand Rapids with a visitation one hour prior and luncheon to follow the service.
