Eduardo Orta

Eduardo Montalvo Orta, age 70, of Bath, Michigan passed away on April Fool's Day. He loved family vacations spent on Lake Michigan. He was a proud father and grandpa. He was the first parent to sign up to help with class field trips and he coached every football, baseball and basketball team his sons were on. He was an optimist; illness had not taken that away from him. He was extremely grateful for the time he had with his youngest granddaughter over the past 16 months. Eduardo was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; his parents, Ruperto and Elvira (Montalvo) Orta; and siblings, Ruperto, Fernando, Estella and Julia. Surviving are his children, Theresa (Steve Swart) Orta, Alex (fiance, Jessica Lemke) Orta, Rafie (Jessica) Orta, and Mindy (Brice) Hasselback; grandchildren, Thali Orta, Luna Orta, Carson Hasselback, and Corbin Hasselback; sister, Rachel (Mel) Meza; brother, Mando Orta; and special friend Bridget Lundberg. Per his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration honoring his life Sunday, April 16, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at The Avenue Cafe & Bar, 2021 E Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI 48912.
