Douglas Lloyd Ploughman, age 70, of Greenville, passed away at home on Thursday, November 29, 2012 under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of Blanch (Musser) & Willis Ploughman, he was born on New Year's Day, January 1, 1942 in Greenville and was a U.S. Army veteran. On June 10, 1972, in Greenville, he married Sandra L. Wells. For most of his working years, Doug was self-employed as a roofing and siding contractor. He had a life long love of music, playing guitar, and singing -- but found his greatest joy in time spent with his family. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Rex Stanton in 1966; his step-father, Emory L. Harris in 1973; and his mother, Blanch Harris in 2001. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Sandy Ploughman of Greenville; his children, Douglas L. & Suzette Ploughman II, Michelle Pahl & Ed Reynolds, Connie & Steve Cooper, Jerry & Derek Campbell, Craig Leland, Charles Leland, and Mike Leland; two sisters, Jerry Ann Estep and Donna Headley, both of Stanton; four brothers, Robert & Jenny Harris of Trufant, Larry & Ann Harris of Six Lakes, Jim Harris of Howard City, and Chuck & Betty Harris of Sheridan; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild with the second on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
