Douglas Eugene Corwin, Sr., age 72, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Greenville, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. The son of Lewis & Florence (Henry) Corwin, he was born on Nov. 23, 1939 in Grand Rapids. Following his high school graduation, he served in the U.S. Army, and then worked as a sheriff's deputy for Montcalm County. Later, he was a foreman at the former Ore-Ida Foods plant in Greenville and retired from Lacks Industries in Grand Rapids after 20 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Susan (Grubal) Corwin of Grand Rapids; his children, Douglas E. & Diane Corwin, Jr. of Midland, Scott & Brenda Corwin of Greenville, Amber & Andy Arnold of Turk Lake, Pamela & Dan Roseman of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Bradley Corwin of Lakeview; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Larry & Dee Corwin of Greenville, Lewis & Deb Corwin of Stanton, Ron & Dee Corwin of Sidney, Don & Carol Corwin of Trufant, Sally Rockwell of Wyoming, Pat Kanamiller of Wildwood, Florida, and Lyle & Jean Fewlass of Fruitland Park, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Greenville Church of the Nazarene, 10087 S. Greenville Road at Baker Road, Greenville, with his son, the Rev. Douglas E.
