Douglas William Clayton, age 51, passed away on February 28, 2017 at his home in Grand Rapids.
He was born January 4, 1966 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Donald Isaiah Clayton Sr. and Edith Jean Clayton, the 7th of 7 children.Douglas was a 1984 graduate of Boardman High School. He worked many years as a roofer and then as a handy-man before retiring with disabilities in 2015.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie; son, Michael, of Nebraska. Sisters, Victoria (Russell) Mendenhall, of Camp Verde, AZ, Deborah (Skip) Cruce, of Vero Beach, FL, and Stacey (Dave) Brunswick, of Wake Forest, NC; his brothers, Donald Clayton Jr., of Houston TX, Gary (Glori) Clayton, of Petaluma CA, and James (Lori) Clayton, of Columbus OH; as well as many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his longtime friend Sally Golds (who he considered like a mother) of Lowell, MI, Annie Amada of Manila, Philippines, and his many friends in Ohio and Michigan.
