Dorthy Jean Covington

Dorothy Covington, age 97 of Grand Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. She was born on June 30th, 1928, in Grand Rapids to William Fitzgerald and Ruth Marie Johnson.

Dorothy worked for Grand Rapids Public Schools as a Bus Aide for 10 years before she retired. However, there was nothing that Dorothy loved more than her family. She will be remembered for her sassy wit and sense of humor. But above all, Dorothy will be remembered as a loving wife of 64 years, Cleatus Covington, and mother of five children, Larry (Judy) Smith, Gina (Bill) Pou, and Ron Covington.

She is preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings, and two sons, Rick (WM0176831 ) Smith and Eddie Covington.

She is survived by many friends and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
