Dorothy Gritter

Dorothy Marie (Lauver) Gritter, age 80, of Hudsonville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2020. She was born on August 11, 1939, in Milroy, Pennsylvania, to the late Ammon and Cora (Reed) Lauver. Dorothy married Richard Gritter on October 18, 1958. Dorothy and Dick had two children and celebrated 33 years of marriage together before he passed away on March 13, 1992. Dorothy enjoyed crafting, sewing, gardening, and most of all spending time with her family. Her favorite holiday was certainly Christmas for which she will forever be missed and remembered by her extravagant decorating and baking. Survivors include her two children, Cynthia (Ernest) Menefee and Richard Gritter; two grandchildren, Tracy (Michael) Wolf and Katie Menefee; three great-grandchildren, Oliver, Isabelle, and Chase; two sisters, Polly Fultz and Nancy Nale; brother-in-law, Russell Myers; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents; siblings, Lester (Pat) Lauver, Emory Lauver, and Helen Myers; and borther-in-law, Harold Fultz. Due to COVID-19 a memorial service will be held and announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
