Mrs. Dorothy Anna Coulson-Mitchell, age 89, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, June 19, 2008 near her daughter's home in Tennessee. The daughter of Harry Pilkington and Mary (Crowley) Dawson, she was born July 14, 1918 in Somerville, Massachusetts.
A graduate of Flint Northern High School, she was a long time resident of Adrian where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church and employed as a Secretary in the Plant Division at Adrian College until her retirement. She loved music, sailing, skiing, and traveling with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a husband, Richard Middleton Coulson in 1995; a sister, Muriel Davison; and brother John Dawson. Surviving are her husband, James G. Mitchell, of Perrysburg, Ohio; two daughters, Carolyn Kay Coulson O'Donnell of Howell, and Nancy Anne Coulson Newman, of Hendersonville, TN; four grandchildren, Michael Coulson, Scott Richard Porter, Kimberley Hull Jension, and Lisa Hull Trask; six great grandchildren, Olivia Kay and Amanda Maggie Jenison, Denae Elieen and Brennan Owen Trask, Coulson Middleton and Cameron Coulson Porter.
Private family services will be held with burial taking place at Forest Home Cemetery in Greenville.
