Mrs. Dorothy E. Corr, age 98, formerly of Lansing and Derby Lake, Stanton, passed away Friday afternoon, May 28, 2010 at Metron of Greenville.
The daughter of Chris & Nettie (Coats) Schoun, she was born on Oct. 10, 1911 in Lansing. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Dorothy delighted in spending time with and caring for her family. She enjoyed crocheting and handicrafts was had been a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Greenville, St. Bernadette of Lourdes in Stanton, and Resurrection Parish in Lansing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Thomas Corr; her husband, Richard L. Corr, Sr.; a brother, Virgil Schoun; and a sister, Vivian Kline.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Dick & Kathy Corr of Derby Lake; eight grandchildren, Linda & Frank Boone of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Christopher & Debra Corr of Chino Hills, California, Jeffrey Corr of Lansing, Timothy & Linda Corr of Grand Ledge, Theresa & Al Seger, Steven & Donna Corr, Lisa Rowley, all of Dewitt, and Jennifer Rosenquist of Lansing; two step-grandsons, James & Corey Merreick, and Jeff & Terri Merrick, all of Munising; twenty-four great grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Private family graveside services will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lansing. In appreciation of the great care Dorothy received, the family suggests contributions in her memory to the Activities Fund at Metron of Greenville.
